Sustainability health check

Governance

A senior leader has clear responsibility for sustainability.
The board or leadership team reviews sustainability at least twice a year.
We have written policies for the topics that matter to us (climate, labour, ethics, suppliers).
We have identified our most important sustainability topics, ideally with input from stakeholders.

Data

We measure our greenhouse gas emissions (at least Scope 1 and 2).
Our ESG data is collected on a set schedule, with named owners.
We keep evidence (invoices, meter readings, HR records) behind every reported number.
We have an estimate of our Scope 3 (value chain) emissions, or a plan to make one.

Targets and action

We have a baseline year and at least one measurable target.
Our targets have owners and budgets, and progress is tracked.
We know which customers, investors or laws are asking us for ESG information.
We have assessed physical and transition climate risks to our business.

Reporting and assurance

We publish a sustainability or ESG report each year.
Our report follows a recognised framework (for example ESRS, ISSB, GRI or VSME).
Someone independent has reviewed at least part of our sustainability data.
Our environmental claims in marketing can be backed up with evidence.
