How listings work

ESGListings helps buyers find and compare ESG software and service providers. Here is how we list them and what the labels mean.

Who we list

We list companies that offer ESG, sustainability reporting or climate software and services. Listings start with public information from each company’s website. Companies can claim their listing to correct or complete it.

Free listings

Any provider can list free. A free listing shows the company name, logo, a short description, a category and a link to its website.

What “Verified” means

Verified means we have checked the listing’s details with the company. Companies pay a yearly fee for the check, but the badge is added only once the details hold up, and it never affects ranking.

What “Sponsored” means

Sponsored marks paid placement. Sponsored listings appear in their own labelled section above the main results, and can show a contact form. Payment never changes the order of the main results or which providers we recommend as similar.

How reviews work

Anyone who has used a provider’s software or services can review it. Every reviewer confirms their work email with a one-time code, and we check every review before it goes live.

How ratings are calculated

A provider’s rating is the plain average of the overall star ratings in its published reviews. The detailed scores (ease of use, audit readiness, framework coverage, support, value for money) are averages of the reviewers who answered them. “Highest rated” sorting puts providers with at least 3 reviews first.

How results are ordered

Payment never changes the order of results. By default listings are shuffled at random, so no company is favoured by its name or its letter. Each visitor’s order stays steady while they browse and changes every few hours. When you search, listings are ordered by how well they match your words, and ties are shuffled too. Sponsored companies appear in their own labelled block, in random order. Read the full method and the dated list of changes on How we rank.

Something wrong?

If a listing is out of date, the company can claim it from its profile page, or you can email list@esglistings.com.
