Review guidelines
Last updated 9 October 2026
Reviews help teams choose ESG providers with confidence. These rules keep them genuine and useful.
Who can write a review
- Anyone who has used the provider’s software, or worked with them on a project, as a customer.
- One review per person per provider.
- Not employees of the provider or a competitor, or their close relatives. We automatically block reviews from the provider’s own email domain.
- Every reviewer confirms their work email with a one-time code.
What a good review includes
- Your own, first-hand experience: what worked, what didn’t, and what you used it for.
- Specifics, such as which frameworks, how setup went, and how the team supported you.
- Balanced, fair language. Negative reviews are welcome when they’re honest.
What we don’t publish
- Reviews from people who aren’t customers, or who work for the provider or a competitor
- Offensive, discriminatory or threatening language
- Personal details about anyone, such as names of staff, phone numbers or email addresses
- Links, adverts or promotional content
- Copied, automated or bulk-written reviews
- Confidential information you aren’t allowed to share
Invitations and rewards
- Providers can send customers their review link. Those reviews are labelled “Invited by provider”, and providers should invite all customers, not only happy ones.
- If you received a gift, discount or payment for writing a review, tell us on the form. We label those reviews “Incentivised”. Rewards must never depend on the rating you give.
- Nobody can pay us to publish, improve or remove a review.
Moderation, replies and reports
- We check every review before it goes live, usually within two working days, and email you the result.
- Providers can reply publicly once to each review and can report a review they believe breaks these rules. Reported reviews stay visible while we check them.
- We may ask a reviewer for evidence that they’re a customer. If we can’t confirm it, we remove the review.
How ratings are calculated
A provider’s rating is the plain average of the overall star ratings in its published reviews. Detailed scores (ease of use, audit readiness, framework coverage, support, value for money) average the reviewers who answered them. Sponsorship never affects ratings.
